Mission Statement
Over the past eight years the College of Toronto has gained extensive experience educating local and international students, empowering them to obtain their Ontario Secondary School Diplomas and achieve post-secondary academic and life success. We have been able to effectively accomplish this because we remain committed to the belief that scholarship is best achieved in a challenging, personalized environment that is creative, safe and supportive.
At the College of Toronto, we are always striving to help develop the overall well-being of our students, academically, personally, and socially. Our school is committed first and foremost to creating and fostering a safe, friendly and positive learning environment. Our mission is to continue to deliver a valuable education experience for each student, ensuring that each boy and girl has every opportunity available to them. Students as such are exposed to a structured, rigorous academic curriculum which equips them with the knowledge, skills and values so essential for their success inside and outside of the classroom, in post-secondary education and beyond.
Our school relies on a strong curriculum to reinforce the tradition of excellence in academics and a dynamic learning environment to facilitate positive personal growth. Students develop a keen sense of self-respect and self-worth through accomplishments, discipline and a respect for oneself and others. We emphasize self-motivation and leadership, so that each student takes greater responsibility for her or his education. The College of Toronto also pays special attention to other important areas of student need, including extra-curricular activities and community involvement.
An emphasis on cultural diversity and tolerance is essential to an education at the College of Toronto and consistent with the future roles our students will play in this multicultural society. Demanding that students be punctual and take pride in their work also enables us to help develop their individual characters, so that they can better become contributing, responsible and respectful members of Canadian society.
Our approach also focuses on fostering shared responsibility, since we ask that administrators, teachers, students and parents/guardians coordinate their education efforts and work closely together. One of our top priorities is to encourage families to become fully involved in the education of their children. We are convinced that the school, the community and the students’ families can also contribute to the education of our young learners, and through hard work and team work ensure their academic and life success.
